Some sports records seemingly exist only to be beaten.
On Friday night, Connor Sadler and Dean Hammond made it three in two days with goals for Leicester’s men’s and women’s teams.
Sadler, who plays for the men’s team, put the scoreline beyond question after 30 minutes of their 7-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.
Dean Hammond, who plays for the women’s team, then scored with a solo strike on his debut to register a third consecutive FA Cup clean sheet.
Sadler and Hammond both made it onto the scoresheet for last Saturday’s Premier League game between the men’s team and Lincoln.
Sadler has scored five times for the Women’s Super League club this season.
His father, Phil, scored the winning goal for Nottingham Forest against Sheffield Wednesday in the 1988 FA Cup final – the only time the final has been contested.
Sadler told the BBC: “My dad said we’re the only British family who have won both competitions (the Premier League and FA Cup). He said he wished there were more British families who could say that.”
