Today’s shows are strictly trailer previews with just enough of a plot to get you slightly excited, and enough so the cast members can do fun things with their faces. If you’re more interested in the nuts and bolts of the plot, check out the full episodes, which will soon be available on Hulu.
NBC’s “La Brea”
This is the story of a lab worker who must find a new path to his career when his boss is out of town.
When: Saturday at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
Synopsis: This makes up one of our 90s shows and is also the best, kind of, just because the whole premise of “La Brea” is so great and the music has to be really catchy to make the plot go from bad to awesome. Anyway, there’s a villain that needs to be cornered, the main character has to strike a deal with a gang that holds power in the underworld, a cop’s kid is taken hostage and another detective helps the FBI.
We don’t see the show on NBC yet, but you can watch the trailer below.
Here’s what NBC said: “The pilot stars David A.R. White (“The Street”) as Berto, a Jamaican immigrant who came to America to try to learn English and advance his career as a scientist by working for the first-generation son of a man who founded the company for whom he works. His boss, and the leader of the company, is Frank (James Roday, “Psych”), son of Daniel (White, “The Street”), who is now trying to expand his business empire by poaching a particular competitor, Dr. Gregg Fox (Russell Hantz, “LaBrea”). Berto is honored to be partnered with Dr. Gregg, but he must learn to command the power, knowledge and respect that is due a first-generation C.O. Berto finds himself in the middle of this power struggle as Fox’s cousin, Max (“Wizards of Waverly Place” star David Henrie) challenges Berto for the employment of a beautiful newly arrived chemist.”
If you loved “La Brea,” here’s a lot of more of NBC’s shows from the 80s and 90s.
NBC’s “The Blacklist”
This is the story of Raymond Reddington (James Spader) — a former criminal whose deadly past has been covered up by the FBI and the US government. He then kills all of the people who told him that he was being tracked down, but when he comes out of the shadows and does not turn himself in for years, he realizes that there’s a reason for all the bodies piling up.
When: Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
Synopsis: A brilliant criminal with a dirty past comes out of the shadows and begins working with the FBI and attempts to clean up his act and learn what happened to him while he was living this mysterious, wild life.
